Primarily consisting of the executor's papers of Elizabeth Penrose, widow of the Revd. John Penrose, vicar of St. Gluvias. Their sons were the Revd. John Penrose, rector of Perranuthnoe and afterwards of Fledborough, Nottinghamshire, and Vice-Admiral Charles Vinicombe Penrose, and there are some papers relating to them and other members of their immediate family.
