Description

This collection consists of 1,375 documents, being deeds, maps, rentals and other papers relating to the estates of the Hayes and Lyon families in Wirral (1647-1853) of family papers, including settlements, trusts etc: of the two families (1726-1826), and of deeds and papers relating to premises in London and Vaynor, Montgomeryshire (1576-1826).

Immediate source of acquisition

The collection came to the Cheshire Record Office in February 1957, via the County Archivist for Shropshire. It is on permament loan from Messrs. Salt and Sons of Shrewsbury, a firm of Solicitors which at one time acted for the Hayes family.
