Administrative / biographical background

Loyal and Prudent Lodge was granted a warrant by the Moderns' or premier Grand Lodge to meet as No. 584 on 19 March 1790. The Lodge was renumbered as No. 493 in 1792 and after the union between the Moderns' and Antients' Grand Lodges the Lodge was allocated the number No. 532 in 1814. The Lodge met at Brother Hodgson's Academy, Leeds in 1790, at the Star and Garter Inn, Call Lane, Leeds by 1797, the Golden Lion Inn, Briggate, Leeds by 1820 and at the house of Bro Scarborough, Bishopsgate Street, Leeds by 1825. The last minutes of the Lodge are dated 14 october 1825 and Grand Lodge received a final payment for subscriptions in 1826. The Lodge was erased from the roll of lodges in 1832.
