"For consistant good work during the operations east of Ypres commencing 31 July. He organised ration and ammunition parties and guided them to the gun positions under most trying conditions - sometimes making two or three journeys a day from the Company dump to the positions. Again during the operations commencing September 20th he did valuable work in organising parties for ration and ammunition carrying. I have no doubt that his cheery behaviour and determination were instrumental in keeping the men in excellent spirits under very bad climatic conditions as well as heavy shell fire" Recommended by Major N Good, Cdg 196 MG Coy
