The documents in these four sections were originally stored unlisted as vouchers (ref DCH\M/34-38). On sorting, they were found to contain a variety of material relating to the Cholmondeley estates in south Cheshire and to those in north Cheshire [see introduction to main list].
For convenience sake, they have been kept largely in their original order as virtually all of sections DCH\M/34,35 related to the Rocksavage estates and sections DCH\M/36,37 to the south Cheshire area. DCH\M/38 has been integrated with DCH\M/36,37. A few out-county items are included in each section.
The papers relate to various estate and other matters from the fourteenth to the nineteenth centuries though the majority of them are late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries
