The Manors of West Wycombe and Ivinghoe were held by the Bishops of Winchester from before the Conquest until the sixteenth century. Moreton (or Mortons) Manor, which reverted to the see of Winchester shortly after the Conquest, was in the parish of Dinton but appears to have been appurtenant to the manor of West Wycombe (see V.C.H. vol. II, p. 278, vol. III, p. 139)
