These schools have had a variety of names. Beginning life as the East Hove National Schools, they were taken over by the Hove School Board in 1878 as the Farman Street Schools. New buildings were opened in 1893 on Goldsmid Road, named East Hove Board School until 1903 and then East Hove Davigdor Road School. The schools were reorganised in 1929 and a senior girls' school took over the building, which subsequently became the Davigdor County Secondary School for Girls, and this closed in 1978. The boys' school, which took over the buildings formerly used by Connaught Road School, became known as the Manor County Secondary School and it closed in 1967 (E/SC/104). The infants' school became known as Davigdor County Infants' School (E/MA/100)
