The KING'S CHARGE by the last ESTABLISHMENT, which took place from the first of October 1608, amounted to the sum of 69,189l. 17s. 3¾d.--Harps. (sic).

Description

Of that establishment there is deducted and to be paid out of the revenues in Ireland 885l. 11s. 10d. There is also paid thereof in the Exchequer in England 333l. 6s. 8d. The establishment now made and to begin from the 11th of November, 1611, to the sum of 55,143l. Os. 12¼d.= 56,361l 19s. 6¼d.--Harps.

And so saved yearly by this last establishment per ann. 12,827l. 17s. 9½d.--Harps. Making English, 9,620l. 18s. 4d.

A particular note of the abatements made by the said last establishment which is to begin from the 11th of Nov., 1611, in the several titles following.

Officers General.--Jo. Everett, engineer, p. ann. 121l. 13s. 4d.

Horsemen.--The pay of 104 horsemen discharged, at 16d. the piece per day, 2,530l. 13s. 4d.

Footmen.--The pay of 750 footmen with officers discharged, 8,311l. 7s. 1d.

Wards in Leinster discharged.--Carnewe in Shelela, 146l.; Laughlyn Bridge, 194l. 13s. 4d.; Wexforde, 121l. 13s. 4d.; Kiniselloughes, 121l. 13s. 4d.

Wards in Connaught.--Sligo, 158l. 3s. 4d.; Boyle, 182l. 10s.; a castle on the river of Shennon, 164l. 5s.

Wards in Ulster.--Colrane, 158l. 3s. 4d.; Ballinexargie, 109l. 10s.; Masseryne, 194l. 13s. 4d.; Dongannon, 337l. 5s.; Culmore, 322l. 0s. 10d.; Donnegall, 36l. 10s.; Carlingforde, 73l.; Grene Castle in Morney, 121l. 13s. 4d.; Dongevan, 255l. 10s.=2,697l. 4s. 2d.

A brief of the increases and additions contained in the last establishment which is to begin from the 11th of Nov., 1611, and were not allowed by the former establishment begun the first of October 1608.

Officers.--The Marshall, per ann. 70l. 13s. 4½d.; Governor of Carigfergus, 80l. 19s. 8¼d.; Governor of Leise, 243l. 6s. 8d.=395l. 0s. 8¾d.

Wards.--Increase to the ward at Toome, 158l. 3s. 4d.; Grene Castle in Enishowen, 320l. 2s. 8½d.=478l. 6s. 0½d.

Pensioners.--Patricke Foxe, 24l. 6s. 8d.; Margaret Corbett, 16l. 4s. 5¼d.

Two Captains and two Lieutenants discharged, 438l.

Constables of Wards now discharged, 352l. 16s. 8d.=831l. 7s. 9¼d. Sum total of additions and increase, 1,704l. 14s. 6½d.--Harps.

Deducting the said sum increased out of the total sum of abatements and discharges there will be saved from the last establishment, made in October 1608 per ann. 12,827l. 17s. 9½d.--Harps. English, 9,620l. 18s. 4d.
