The correspondence covers the activity of the Mothers' Union in the dioceses in question, concerning in particular: changes in personnel; financing, resourcing and training of MU Workers; constitutional matters and membership; missionary and development work, including programmes of MU meetings; availability of MU literature; links with home branches; visits of overseas members to England and from England to the West Indies; conferences both overseas and in the U.K.; attempts to trace MU members from the West Indies living in the U.K. Reference is occasionally made to political events; the social, economic and cultural circumstances of the dioceses and race relations, as well as the impact of climatic conditions, local religious beliefs and attitudes to marriage and the family. The earlier branches are especially concerned with the establishing of branches.
