Series of 8 ms letters (23pp in total, two letters in Welsh), May 1916 - February 1917, written during his service as a Corporal with the 8th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers (40th Brigade, 13th Division) in the United Kingdom and from February 1916 in Mesopotamia, stating little about military operations but containing useful descriptions of Army life. Evans died of wounds on 19 February 1917, and the collection includes a letter from the Infantry Record Office to his mother in January 1923 informing her that her son's grave has been moved to the cemetery at Amara.
