Letter of attorney of Raffe Egerton of Ridley, co. Chester, esquire, reciting that the late reverend father in God William, late abbot of the late dissolved monastery of St. Peter of Gloucester and the convent of the same place by indenture dated 3 March 29 Henry VIII had demised and granted to John Combe the reversion of the site of the manor of Clifford Chamberer, co. Warwick, for a term of 99 years next following the surrender or determination of an estate for a term of 61 years made to William Rainsforde, Joan his wife, Charles their son, Joise their daughter, John Alderford and Elianor the daughter of William Rainsford, and that he, Raffe Egerton, then had by good and lawful means the interest of John Combe in the premises, and consituting William Barnes of Clifford Chamberer, esquire, his true and lawful attorney to enter in the site of the said manor and take possession of it in his name.

Seal: issuing from a wreath two swans rising, wings elevated and displayed, and facing, one partly imposed on the other.
Witnesses: Christofer ffreman, John Hooper, Christofer Hodgson, Jeffry Marrell (or Morrell).
