A boy. Mughal, c.1700. Richard Johnson Collection. Purchased 1807. Numbered 3 in Persian inventory note. Gouache with gold; on an album page with fawn and plain borders. 152 by 86 mm; page 372 by 251 mm. A boy, facing right, stands in a field with his hands folded, dressed in a dark green jama and orange boots. The sky is green with coloured streaks at the top.
