Description

Green half-leather album (binding weak, spine piece detached and some pages loose) measuring 303x248mm. The first 24 prints have accompanying descriptive letterpress captions pasted down on the back of the page to which they refer (a few are incorrectly placed). Prints 25-34 appear to have been added to the album later and include views in the Andaman Islands (prints 27-30) in addition to Burmese views. The photograph credited to Beato (print 11) and dated December 1889, is the earliest dated view taken by Beato in Burma.
