Geoffrey Moorhouse was born at Bolton on the 29th November 1931. He was Chief Features Writer of the Guardian newspaper from 1958 to 1970. His published works include The Other England (1963), The Press (1963), Against All Reason (1969), Calcutta (1971), The Missionaries (1973), and The Fearful Void (1974).
