'An Actual Topographical Survey of the County of Sussex'. Four sheets pasted together. Includes one inset: 1) Rye Harbour with note: 'This part is unavoidable inserted here to prevent a contraction of the sheets'. Chart shows coastline, hydrography, topography, vegetation, farms, roads, settlements, buildings, fortifications and remarks. Printed. Latitude and longitude indicated; north point with compass indicator (variation in remarks). Scale: 5.9 inches to 3 statute miles. Surveyed 'by T [Thomas] Yeakell and W [William] Gardner, Surveyors'; engraved by Thomas Yeakell; published according to Act of Parliament 21 March 1778. Annotated in pencil: Section for reuse with 'Area between limits A, B, C and D'
