Two 110 horse power side lever boat engines, with 55? inch cylinders, 5 foot strokes.Cross-section of the boat and engines, plan of the engine deck beams and longitudinal section of the engine room, plan of the engine sleepers, side view of gangway wale, sections and plans of the boiler - reverse drawings made in the London office; cross-section of the boat at the aft bulkhead - original and reverse drawings made in the London office; upper headstock; starting gear - 2 partially shaded reverse drawings made in the London office; front view and plan of the coal boxes, front view of boiler and feeding and blow out pipes - reverse drawings made in the London office; feeding, blow out, injection and hand pump pipes - original and reverse drawings made in the London office; sections of hold down bolts - partially shaded reverse drawing made in the London office; eccentric circle, ring and rod, disengaging gearing and balance weight gearing - coloured original and coloured reverse drawing; throttle valve, blow valve and injection gearing - partially coloured reverse drawing (also used for 100 horse boat engines). Most of these drawings bear letter codes. Also the following uncoded drawings, sketches etc.: 2 sketches of paddle shaft; sketch of disengaging apparatus by James Brown; 2 drawings of cramps for securing condenser flanches etc.; sketches and notes re coal boxes; 2 drawings of expansion gearing; note re hand rails and pillars (on tracing paper).
Also the following later items: boiler, pipes, cocks, valves, metallic piston etc. - large sheet of coloured drawings, brass cocks and water gauges etc. - coloured drawing, part of boiler apparatus - partially coloured original and partially coloured reverse drawings, coal boxes as altered - partially coloured reverse drawing, Jul.-Sep. 1839; piston with metallic packing - coloured original and coloured reverse drawings, Jan. 1840. All these drawings except the first items bear letter codes.Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 872. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 318.
For the Pacha of Egypt. The boat was referred to as the "Pacha" before it was named Nile.
