Annual returns giving names, professions and residence of members of the St. George's East York Militia Lodge [Moderns] and general correspondence relating to the running of the lodge. Years 1785, 1786, 1790 - 1793, 1795 and 1803 are not extant.

Administrative / biographical background

The St. George's East York Militia Lodge was named and established in 1782. In 1782 the lodge met at the Golden Ball, Toll Gavel, Beverley, Yorkshire [the Head Quarters of the East Riding Regiment of York Militia]. The lodge moved around the country with the regiment. The lodge was erased in 1829.
