511. J. Hoth, St. Petersburg (RM). Jun. 1831, Jul. 1834. 5 items.
30 horse power double-acting crank engine, with 29 inch cylinder, 5 foot stroke, parallel motion, [cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod].

Reverse plan and sections of the engine and boiler houses, chimney and boiler, plan of the tunnel; sketches of piston, columns etc. marked "Measurements taken by J. Shakespeare of Mr. Hoth's 30 horse engine"; coloured plan of the works dated Jun. 1831, showing rope-walk, location of winding machines, River Neva, proposed location of the engine, sections of sheds etc. The reverse drawings bear letter codes.
