The sub-sub-series comprises detailed records of the negotiations for, and awarding of, oil concessions in the Persian Gulf. Also included are records of the exploitation of the concession through geological surveying, drilling, and the construction of refineries and pipelines. The main concessions documented in the sub-sub-series are:. Bahrain; Kuwait, including the Kuwait-Nejd Neutral Zone; Qatar; Al Hasa; Dubai; Sharjah; Ra's al Khaymah; Muscat (including Dhofar and Oman); Abu Dhabi; Umm al Qaywayn; Kalba; Ajman; Other matters discussed in the sub-sub-series include the use of wireless radio communications by Oil Companies in the region, the impact of the Second World War, and political questions relating to the discovery of oil in the Middle East and its implications on the global oil economy.
