Further information: The claimant was diagnosed with Dermatitis which was assessed at 20 per cent according to the Initial Medical Board Report dated 16 March 1950. An earlier report dated 9 November 1949 states 'appears to be a sweat rash. I do not consider it is due to his occupation.' At the end of the assessment the decision was that it had not resulted in a loss of faculty. The claimant's statement of appeal dated 16 November 1950 states 'That I have difficulty in shaving at times since I started to work in the open frosty air as it makes my face so sore.' The Referral to the Medical Appeal Tribunal states 'Claimant's face and neck more weather beaten in appearance, and there was some slight reddening of nose and cheeks, and above eye brows, but no evidence of any vesiculation. The board noted the effects of the relevant disease had no material effect on function.' The tribunal hearing was on 24 January 1951 but was adjourned as the claimant did not attend. The final piece of correspondence is a letter to the claimant asking whether he will attend the re-arranged tribunal hearing. -
