Description

Until recently Stanley House formed part of The Old Apiary, but acquired its own name when it was sold off by the owners of the latter property. Joseph Diamond, the vendor in this document, had acquired this property with Deans Place in 1783, but in 1807 sold Deans Place to Thomas Henry Harben (Alfriston Tenement Analysis, P52/22, P52/46).

This document was framed in about 1980, having presumably been selected from a bundle of deeds. A former owner made it available to the owner of Stanley House in 2006, when an opportunity taken to copy it.
