Description (What the record is about)
-
his scribal copy includes an index at the beginning and is divided into six 'books' or chapters. It appears to be largely a copy of the Latin text: Physiologiae peripateticae liber sex: cum commentatiis ..., first published in 1597 and but it also draws on "Systema physicum" by Bartholomaeus Keckermann, both publications concerning natural philosophy. It is written in the same hand throughout and red and black ink have been used - the red identifies key words in the text and headings. Timothy Raylor suggest other sources for this synopsis or compendium may also exist. He also suggest the scribe could be one linked to the Hobbes Manuscript HS/A/8 at Chatsworth.
