The papers listed below all relate to the Sussex branch of the Burra family, and to the Curteis family of Windmill Hill Place in Wartling. The papers were in the possession of Lady Anne Ritchie but on her death passed to the depositor
Henry Burra acquired Springfield in 1867, and in 1880 he became Mayor of Rye. He was also a JP from 1873, a partner in Rye Old Bank and an alderman of Rye Borough Council
