Description

E.J. Allen was MBA Director from 1895-1936, then Governor.

This collection contains ncludes laboratory notebooks (1897-1938); manuscripts; correspondence and notes regarding proposed aquarium in Edinburgh (1913-1916), and book of eight poems by E.J. Allen (1918-1920). "Secret" report (1917) for the Admiralty on sea lion underwater hearing, and the possibility of training them as "sub-marine trackers". Allen's draft for a report on the presentation of the Emil Christian Hansen prize to himself (1923). Confidential reports, laboratory notebooks, correspondence with various researchers on a variety of subjects.
