This volume was given to the Chester City Record Office on 16 Feb. 1977 by Mr. F.H. Mansley, Hough Green, Chester.

William Mansley, plasterer, established a business in Newgate Street in the 1870s. The business moved to St Peter's churchyard in the late 1950s and to Lower Bridge Street in the 1960s. It closed in the 1970s.
