The Town Hall Sub-Committee was appointed in December 1860, and consisted of four members. The purpose of this sub-committee was to inspect the building periodically to ascertain its general condition and arrange repairs, then report back to the main Estates and Buildings Committee. It is unclear as to whether the sub-committee continued in operation after December 1876 although its functions were amalgamated into the Buildings and Finance Sub-Committee in November 1879 (see BCC/1/AM/6).
