The Lodge of Prudence No. 219 was established in 1774 and met at the Punch Bowl, Leigh, Lancashire. The lodge was named the Lodge of Prudence in 1783. In 1847 the lodge moved from Leigh to Todmorden, Lancashire, meeting at the Queen's Hotel, Rise Lane. The lodge now meets at the Masonic Hall, Todmorden.
