A collation of passages of the New Testament in Greek manuscripts in the Vatican and Barberine libraries in Rome. By Thomas Wagstaffe (1692-1770), nonjuring clergyman. In 1734 Wagstaffe left England, becoming Anglican chaplain in Rome to the Old Pretender (James Stuart, known as James III). f. 1r (original paper cover). Title page, in the hand of John Berriman (1691-1768): 'An accurate collation of several particular texts in the principal Greek manuscripts of the New Testament in the Vatican and Barberine Libraries at Rome, made by Mr. Thomas Wagstaffe, written with his own hand, transmitted to me through the hands of Dr. Bedford, a physician of good note at that time living upon Breadstreet Hill. J. Berriman'. f. 2r. A note about the manuscript in the hand of John Berriman, depositing it in Sion College: 'Sion College. In the year 1738 I obtained from the very learned Mr. Thomas Wagstaffe then at Rome a more exact and particular account of the Greek manuscripts of St. Paul's epistles in the Vatican Library and that of Cardinal Barberini...'. ff. 3r-6v.
