Title

Deeds: East Guldeford, Playden

Description

This series of documents, although extremely incomplete, is clearly part of the archive of the Curteis family, who acquired large tracts of marsh in East Guldeford throughout the eighteenth century. Similar material is to be found among the deposit by the Rye solicitors Dawes and Prentice whose predecessors acted for the Curteis family and it is not unlikely that these deeds are also from that source

Arrangement

Pieces 1 - 18 bear a broken series of numbers and have been listed first for this reason; all the other groupings are tentative.
