INTRODUCTION
This volume of Additional Manuscripts (Add Mss) has in general been compiled on the lines indicated in the Introduction to the first, apart from the modification in the detail given for maps, referred to in the Introduction to the fourth
Once again deeds of title predominate but there will also be found correspondence, including some of the Cobden family (Add Mss 6472, 6546 and 6817, 6818), personal papers of members of the Mitford Family (Add Mss 6494 - 6493), copies of plans of Sutton Rectory (Add Mss 6494), a pedigree of the Ridge Family (Add Mss 6550) and a grant of arms and crest to Thomas Vincent Reynolds (Add Mss 6816)
Students are again asked to exercise care in quoting references, and to use the form indicated in the Introduction to the first volume
