Gallantry Notes: MC: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the 2nd Bvattle of Ypres, under very heavy fire,and when himself suffering from the effects of gas,he personally assisted in the removal of the wounded and materially helped to repulse an attack by moving single handed his machine gun from a damaged emplacement and mounting it elsewhere. Also at Le Touquet during the nights of 30 & 31st May 1915, he made a gallant and very useful reconnaisance in front of our trenches.;
