INTRODUCTION

This volume of Additional Manuscripts (Add Mss) has in general been compiled on the lines indicated in the Introduction to the first, apart from the modification in the detail given for maps mentioned in the Introduction to the fourth

The papers relating to the vote of Peter Du Cane (Add Mss 5190-5203) and the minute books and other records of the Chichester Corn Exchange Ltd. (Add Mss 5293 -5301) are the only miscellaneous documents that stand out in a volume which is otherwise devoted to large collections of deeds of title (Add Mss 4749-5153, 5204- 5235 and Add Mss 5302-5405), Inclosure Maps and Awards and the working plans and maps of Edward Fuller of Chichester, surveyor (Add Mss 4536-4748)

Students are again asked to exercise care in quoting references and to use the form given in the Introduction to the first volume
