Description (What the record is about)
-
These records have been arranged by manors in order of acquisition (as in AR/1 and AR/2) and, in general, chronologically within each manor. They comprise all documents about the running of particular manors other than the title deeds, manorial records and the records of leases (the latter are in sections AR/4 and AR/5). Estate management papers can thus include financial papers, correspondence, bonds, bills and receipts, surveys of tenements, miscellaneous notes about tenants and, from the medieval period, acknowledgements of receipt of homage. This section contains detailed farming records for Trinity, a tenement of Bodardle manor, and Lanherne Barton, part of Lanherne manor.
-
Arrangement (Information about the filing sequence or logical order of the record)
-
The records of individual manors are followed by a general section of estate papers of more than one manor and those where the property concerned is unspecified or unclear. This general section is in chronological order.
