For £800, from Philadelphia Russell [as above] to Thomas Chatfield of Appledram, yeo.
Capital messuage and coach houses [as in nos. 248, 249]. Recites lease, 20 Jan. 1767, for 30 years, from the Dean and Chapter of Chichester Cathedral to Archibald Grant, then of Chichester, esq., in respect of the said coach houses, described as follows:
Coach house (dimensions given) with a chamber over the same, and a brewhouse, a larder and bakehouse behind the said coach house (dimensions given), a woodhouse behind the said bakehouse, one 'Necessary House' with part of another reaching to the end of the demised ground, and a court or passage paved with stone between the said buildings and the dwellinghouse then of Archibald Grant; [which coach house and buildings are] late erected in place of an ancient messuage, backroom and garden (dimensions given), formerly in occ. of Grace Noyce and others, abutting S. on dwellinghouse formerly of Thomas Miller, N. on tenement late pertaining to the Chantry of St. Cross, formerly in tenure of Thomas Barber, then of Henry Aylward, E. on garden late in occ. of John Peachey, esq., then of said Archibald Grant, W. on highway.
