Letter from John [Whitgift], Archbishop of Canterbury, Croydon, to [Charles, Lord Howard] the Lord Chamberlain. He asks that Mr Marshe, one of his officers, should be spared the charge of a light horse and armour as he has only £20 per annum from land and his fee, and not the minimum of £30 in freehold land which the Statute requires.
