Description

Panel of decoupé work, with 'nasta'liq' Persian text in central cartouche and in end panels cut out in white paper over a ground coloured blue and gold, with a border of decoupé floral scroll over olive green. Let into a later plain album page. Inscribed on reverse in an 18th century hand: 'A fanciful specimen of Persian cut out in paper.'. Qazwin style: second half of 16th century. 22.5 by 8.5 cm (page 28 by 18 cm).
