Description

Loose unmounted prints, the majority captioned on the verso, from the collection of Sergeant Sidney Herbert French of the Royal West Kent Regiment. Most of the photographs are amateur snapshots, probably by Sgt French, with some additional commercially produced prints. They record the movements of the Royal West Kents through the Punjab, North-West Frontier and Baluchistan, including camp life, marches, prisoners and views of Firozpur, Dagshai, Dalhousie, Chamba and Peshawar. Process = Gelatine silver prints. Photographers = S.H. French, D.C. Gupta;.
