'We Lived Across the River' was a radio documentary produced by Charles Parker but compiled by Dilip Hiro from interviews conducted by Dilip Hiro. Readings and narration were performed by Stuart Hall.

The programme concerned the growth of black consciousness and pan-africanism, with reference to black people in Britain and America, and the impact of the history of the slave trade on people of African descent worldwide.
