'An Accurate Map of Broadwater or Bassenthwaite Lake near Keswick, Cumberland'. 2 editions of same plan. Includes 5 sketches: 1) 'Powterhow the property of Rowland Stephenson Esq and Mr Joshua Stranger'; 2) 'Ousebridge Inn'; 3) 'Castle How (Mr Thos [Thomas] Bell's) with old trenches upon it, dug out of the solid rock'; 4) 'Mirehouse'; 5) 'Armathwaite Hall'.
1) Map shows coastline, hydrography, roads, settlements, buildings, land marks and remarks, including 'author surveyed this lake in October 1784'. Printed. North point (orientation to west south west). Scale: 2.8 inches to 1 mile. Surveyed and planned by Peter Crosthwaite; engraved by S [Samuel] Neel; published 20 May 1785. Republished with additions, 1 December 1788; sold by Peter Crosthwaite. Annotated with black ink: '(earlier edition same No [number] and folio)'.
