These papers of John Roberts, a solicitor at Wokingham, refer mainly to his duties as Under Sheriff of Berkshire few of the later papers are probably lose of his namesake and successor. The papers were acquired by Miss Willatts from her uncle whose wife was related to James Watson, a solicitor, presumably a successor to the Roberts family practice.
