Description

Annual returns giving names, professions and residence of members of the Lodge of Unanimity [Antients] and general correspondence relating to the running of the lodge. Years 1794, 1804, 1808, 1810 and 1812 are not extant.

Administrative / biographical background

The Lodge of Unanimity was established in 1787 and named in 1818. In 1787 the lodge met at the Swan with Two Necks, Water Street, Chorley, Lancashire. The lodge met at various inns and taverns in Chorley and in 1818 moved to the Red Lion, Market Street, Chorley. The Red Lion is the last known meeting place of the lodge, which was erased in 1838.
