Relating to his activities in various areas in the 1st (later 5th) Battalion, Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, including

(a) Palestine, 1938-1939: special order for conduct of troops on entry into Jerusalem, Oct 1938; annual report on 2nd Lt T V H Beamish, 12 Jun 1939 see also CLW/1/6/9-11

(b) France, 1940: extensive pencil notes of Captain Beamish's experiences in France up to Dunkirk, with a typescript account based on them; cuttings about the award to him of the Military Cross, May 1940; booklet 'Fusilier George in France, 1940'; London Gazette 17 Oct 1941 containing Lord Gort's despatches describing the events of 3 Sep 1939 to 31 May 1940 see also CLW/1/6/13

(c) India, 1942-1943: group photograph at Intelligence Course, Karachi, 1942; printed address of Field Marshall Wavell to officers of Indian Command, 22 May 1943 see also CLW/1/6/16

(d) North Africa and Italy, 1943-1944: Union Jack (forces newspaper), 8 May 1943, with account of the assault on Tunis; St George's Gazette (regimental magazine of Royal Northumberland Fusiliers), 30 Nov 1943, with extracts from Tufton Beamish's diary of the Tunisian Campaign; typescript account of 'The Vickers Medium Machine Gun' by Captain Beamish, Feb 1944; Captain Beamish's military identity card, 9 Dec 1944; various addresses to the troops (Montgomery, Lease, Alexander, McCready); propaganda leaflets etc in English, German, Italian and Arabic; and address to the people of Lebanon by the French representative (11 Nov 1943) see also CLW/1/6/17, 18
