Colliery surface worker: 'job entails the picking of loose pieces of hind from out of the coal, as it passes along on the belts or screens.' Mr Hudson was a coal-face borer up until 30/5/1952 when he injured his left eye. He resumed employment on 15/9/1952 and since 12/01/1953 was employed as a gate conveyor man. the grounds of his appeal was that he was incapable of following his regular employment - a final decision was given against Mr Hudson on 17/09/1953.
