Description

Agenda papers including, amongst other things:

- Mobile Unit at Sandy;

- communications from Ministry of Home Security regarding: recording and notification of air raid casualties; relations between Civil Defence services and Local Defence Volunteer Force; Reservation of Personnel in Rescue Parties and First Aid Parties: Civil Defence (Employment) Order; reservation of personnel in Rescue Parties and First Aid Parties; French nationals in Civil Defence services; undesirability of answering questions put by strangers;

- communications from Senior Regional Officer regarding: mobilisation of part time personnel on an air raid warning; magnetic mines; lighting of road blocks; assistance to military authorities; deterrents against enemy aircraft landings; incendiary bomb training hut at Ampthill; remote control of sirens in Bedford Borough; air raid warning sirens at Pyghtle Works, Bedford; shelters for persons travelling by rail; use of brick vaults at Eagle Works, High Street, Leighton Buzzard, as public shelter; warnings in rural areas; compulsory Air Raid Precautions service
