Gnoll Lodge was granted a warrant by the Moderns' Grand Lodge to meet as No. 506 on 20 September 1777 and met at the Angel Inn, Angel Street, Neath, Glamorgan. In 1777 the lodge was named the Knoll Lodge but in 1784 it was renamed Gnoll Lodge. In 1784 the lodge relocated to the Ship and Castle, The Parade, Neath, where it continued to meet until the lodge ceased to meet. The Lodge was renumbered as No. 411 in 1780, as No. 412 in 1781 and as No. 333 in 1792. It sent its last entries for the membership register in 1787 and the lodge lapsed about 1790.
