A chapel was built in Albert Road by the Wesleyan Methodists in 1874. An iron chapel, the Tabernacle, was added in 1889-1890. In 1901 the old chapel was destroyed by fire, and a new chapel was subsequently built in 1904-1905 as the Wesley Chapel. Closed in 1984.
