Description (What the record is about)
-
Volumes recording expenditure by the Department on goods and services, arranged by the name of the supplier, with totals given under expenditure heads. The volumes have been compiled chronologically, with a few pages assigned to each account-holder; they continue until September 1937, which presumably marked the start of a new system of recording. Many accounts are recorded in one volume after another as their allotted space is filled but cross-references are usually quoted. Each book is indexed and DB/D/58/28 is an index to all accounts. The opening date only is given for each volume
