Mr. H G B Bowles (donor) is the lineal descendant (through heiresses) of the Bradshaws of Bradshaw, Abney (Derbyshire) and Brampton (Yorkshire). The earlier Derbyshire deeds are calendared in I. H. Jeayes, 'Descriptive catalogue of Derbyshire charters'.
