Description

The earliest visitors books in the series contain the names of visitors to the insect room of the Zoology Department from 1866 until 1901, as entered by the clerk on duty. The earliest books relating to the Entomology Department date from 1930 and contain the signatures of visitors to a particular section or floor of a building. A single series of departmental visitors books became established in the 1940s and ended when the ground floor enquiries entrance was closed in 1984.
