Description (What the record is about)
-
Rejects the kind offer of hospitality from Gunnis's cousin; does not feel in the best of form and the problem would be returning [to Ashburnham] and having to get used to the horror again. Churchill's speech seems to suggest that worse horrors are in store. Masses [of doodlebugs] went over last night, and there have been three crashes in as many minutes since she started this letter. Does not think that there will be an improvement until there has been progress in France; perhaps the Russians might help after they have reached Berlin. Might consider staying with the cousin, but would expect to pay. Over 100 [doodlebugs] have been shot down in this area, and only nine people have been killed.
